Central and South America
79-118 in (200-300 cm)
Small to medium mammals
Tropical / Rainforest Bioactive Setup
Recommended local flora and fauna for recreating Bushmaster's natural habitat in a bio-active enclosure.
Live Plants (Flora)
Cleanup Crew (Fauna)
Substrate Mix
ABG Mix: peat moss, orchid bark, horticultural charcoal, tree fern fiber, sphagnum moss. Or coconut coir-based mix.
Setup Notes
Maintain 70-90% humidity. Mist regularly. Use a drainage layer (LECA or false bottom) to prevent waterlogging. Live plants help regulate humidity naturally.
๐ฑ Why Bioactive?
Bio-active enclosures use living plants and microfauna to create a self-sustaining ecosystem. The cleanup crew breaks down waste, eliminates odors, and enriches the soil โ reducing maintenance while providing a naturalistic, enriching environment for your Bushmaster.
