Our Commitment

The Reptile Atlas is committed to protecting your privacy. We do not track, monitor, or sell your personal information. This page explains exactly what data we handle and how.

What We Don't Collect

  • No analytics or tracking software (Google Analytics, Facebook Pixel, etc.)
  • No advertising or ad-network scripts
  • No cookies used for tracking or profiling
  • No IP address logging or geolocation tracking
  • No browser fingerprinting
  • No third-party data sharing or selling

Information You Voluntarily Provide

If you choose to create an account, we collect only your email address and a securely hashed password for authentication. This is handled by our platform's built-in security infrastructure.

If you choose to use the care-tracking features, you may enter information about your own reptiles โ€” such as feeding logs, breeding records, and genetics notes. This data belongs to you and is only visible to your account.

External Images

Species photos are loaded from Wikimedia Commons and Unsplash. These are public, openly-licensed images. Your browser may connect to those servers to display images, but no personal information is sent to them.

Optional Integrations

If you choose to connect your Google Calendar or Google Tasks account for feeding-reminder syncing, access is granted through Google's secure OAuth system. We only request permission to create calendar events or tasks โ€” we never read, store, or share your personal calendar data.

Data You Control

You can export or delete all of your data at any time from your Profile page. Deleting your account permanently removes your data from our system.
