Ferguson Zone & UVB
The Ferguson Zone system categorizes reptiles by their natural UVB exposure needs, guiding lighting choices.
Grassland species are active sun baskers. Provide moderate UVB (10% T5) across half the enclosure with both open basking and shaded retreats.

10% T5 HO UVB bulb over half the enclosure. Halogen basking bulb. 12–14 hr photoperiod in warm months, 10–12 hr in cool months.

Overhead halogen basking bulb. Ceramic heat emitter for supplemental nighttime heat if temperatures drop below 65°F.

Setup Notes
